When working in my Network Marketing or home based business I often think about and talk with others about creating accountability partners to hold one responsible for their commitments to themselves or to others.

 

 

Accountability vs. Responsibility

The 2nd facet of Accountability is knowing the difference between accountability and responsibility.

Defined:

ACCOUNTABILITY is the exercising of one’s free will choice in making a decision and following a strategy of behavior.

RESPONSIBILITY is a set of duties or expectations that may be given to us by another person or by ourselves that must be completed. We are held accountable for performance of these duties.

• I am Responsible in general for the following areas in my business:
• Returning calls, emails, and texts on time
• Being on time for appointments
• Maintaining a clean work environment, car and home.
• Spending less than I earn (being financially responsible)
• Doing what I say I will do when I said I would do it.
• Performing all required job tasks to the best of my ability
• Keeping a record of all “to do’s” so I do them all and on time

Accountability is generally for self-directed, self motivated actions. We must take self-initiative to perform the actions we have identified or set out to accomplish. Holding yourself accountable is nothing more than walking your talk. I am simply talking about following through with my responsibilities and commitments.

In Network Marketing, MLM or a Home Based Business an environment of independence is inherent in the development of your business. It is your responsibility to yourself to take the actions that are layed out for you, or what I call the success formula for your business. It is being responsible and accountable to yourself for the several daily actions that done on a consistent basis over time will create a great probability of success.

It is your responsibility to take the actions. It is you who holds yourself accountable for these actions. When you need support you arrange to have an accountability partner.
