goals

Is it possible that we are ¾ of the way done with 2016? The other day I noticed Christmas stuff was up in a retail store. My mind rushed to think about my 2016 goals and if I had done what I said I was going to do. Before we know it, the marathon will be over and we’ll be recapping our goals and setting new ones for 2016.

Before we say goodbye to October, November and December, let’s realize that a lot can happen with determination and focus in a 6-week timeframe. In fact, you could totally change the direction of your 2017 by the work you do now.

So let’s take a moment to assess where you are. Get out a piece of paper and your 2016 goals and revisit what is done, what needs done still and what you can do in the next 6 weeks.

Perhaps some revising is necessary but I’ll encourage you to keep your goals so they stretch you a bit. After all, you are more capable than you give yourself credit for.

Let’s look at an Olympic athlete. It is in the last few moments, the last dash, the strongest push and the final “all-in” right before the end of their meet, competition, race. They don’t just say, “Well, I haven’t hit it yet, maybe in 4 years, I’ll come back to the Olympics!” No! They say to themselves, “My time is now, this is what I am trained to do and I am going to win”.

That is the posture I want you to take with your goals. Go “all in”, give it your all, do more than you thought possible.

The significance of this is most people will do opposite of this. Instead of leaning in, they will rest, relax, be and settle. I am calling you to do more. When everyone else is lack, I want you to dig down deep and build a 4th quarter you’ll always remember. YOU and YOUR GOALS are worth it.

Much Success! Have an outstanding day!!
