In his best selling book, author and successful Network Marketer, Richard Brooke, defines the 4 Greatest Lies of Success. Let’s cover each one and see how these might be leading us astray.

Lie #1 – Desire Creates Success
Most of us have the desire to be successful; we have the desire to have more in our lives; we have the desire to fire our boss and leave behind the corporate rate race. But, look around. How many are actually achieving this? Very few. Desire is a great place to start, but one has to be willing to move beyond desire to an unwavering commitment to see the job through; to sacrifice for the short term to have more in the long term.

Lie #2 – Hard Work Creates Success
Look around and think about how many hard working people you know. Are they successful? Better defined, do they have what they truly want? Success is defined in many different ways. And, in asking many hard working people, they feel stressed out, burned out, and no where near close to the goals and the lifestyle they want to live. Hard work isn’t bad, but it’s not the secret to success either.

Lie #3 – Being a Good Person Creates Success
While being a good person is important to ultimate success, and keeping that success, it is no guarantee to get what we truly want in life. How many good people do you know who are struggling right now? So, it seems that this is no guarantee for success either.

Lie # 4 – Getting a Good Education Leads to Success
It’s no secret in today’s economy that nothing could be further from the truth. College graduates today are coming out with few jobs available and $50,000 – $100,000 often in student loan debt. Many are moving back home and working at Startbucks or anywhere to pay the bills. Being educated is not a bad thing, but it is not a free ticket to success.

So, what does lead to success?
Self Motivation; which is a combination of belief, confidence, positive expectations and creativity. Combine all of these together in pursuit of your goal and you will achieve the success you desire!

Have a Successful Day.
